Scholarship

The Board of Directors for The Virginia Horticultural Foundation, who sponsor The Mid-Atlantic Horticulture Short Course, award scholarships and grants to students and educators of Horticulture in Virginia schools. We encourage application for these grants with the following minimum requirements.

  • Must be a Horticulture Major at an accredited University/College in Virginia.

  • Full-time, part-time, or graduate level is eligible to make application.

  • Must have accumulated 9 credit hours in Horticulture.

  • Must have a GPA of 3.0.

  • Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible.

  • There are three ways to make application for these opportunities.
     

Educators Grants- Educators of horticulture may apply for a travel grant to the Mid-Atlantic Horticultural Short Course. The travel grant includes registration, travel, lodging, and a per diem while at the conference.

Travel Grants- Students are awarded travel grants to attend the Mid-Atlantic Horticultural Short Course. The travel grant includes registration, lodging, and a per diem while at the conference. Students are recognized at the opening session as recipients of this travel grant.   

Scholarship- Students are awarded $1,000 to help defray their educational costs for college. The scholarship also includes registration, lodging, and a per diem while at the conference.
Students are recognized at the opening session as recipients of this scholarship.
